Tacoma, Wash. — Franklin Pierce Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Sharon Gold to the Franklin Pierce Schools Board of Directors. A Washington High School graduate and long-time community member, Gold brings deep district experience and a strong commitment to public service.

Gold is currently a full-time law student at Seattle University. Her professional background includes nine years in the Army National Guard as a Signal Analyst and Linguist in Military Intelligence, work as a small business owner, and experience as an educator.

Her connection to FPS runs throughout her career—she has served as a paraeducator at James Sales Elementary, track and soccer coach at Franklin Pierce High School and Washington High School, Counseling Office Coordinator at Franklin Pierce High School, and Executive Board Secretary for the Summit UniServ Council supporting six local educator unions.

Gold says she joined the Board to help strengthen transparency, safety, and accountability across the district. Her experiences as a military leader, educator, multilingual communicator, and parent of a soon-to-be kindergartener shape her focus on equitable, student-centered decision-making.

“My goal is to find creative, lasting solutions that support our students, staff, and families,” Gold said. “I welcome community input and maintain an open-door policy.”

Gold also brings multilingual skills to her role and is fluent in reading, writing, and speaking Russian, with some understanding of Ukrainian.

Gold will be sworn in at the School Board meeting on Tuesday, December 9.
