Janie Del Bosque, a happy and cheerful bus driver, smiles warmly.

Meet Janie Del Bosque, a dedicated bus driver who is a “floater” in transportation. “I get to move around a lot,” Del Bosque said. “They put me where they need me. I know most of the routes and a lot of the students’ names! I’ve transported thousands of students over the years.”

Because she is a highly-requested driver, Principal Brian Alexander at Wylie High School recommended Del Bosque to be featured in this series. Del Bosque has been part of Wylie ISD for 15 years, making a difference behind the scenes every day.

When asked what she enjoys most about her job, Del Bosque shared: “I love field trips and traveling with the different groups. I love to cheer them on in the stands, on the sidelines, and in the auditorium! I love my job because I get to watch students become someone else on stage, and I get to experience the action.”

One of her favorite memories as a driver was when seniors from the Wylie High Varsity basketball team brought her a bouquet of flowers and a card.

“Each one of them signed it and thanked me for being a mom to them. It made my day!”

It’s moments like these that remind Del Bosque why she loves being part of the school family.

Outside of work, Del Bosque enjoys spending time with her two granddaughters. She loves travelling, fishing, and eating. “I’m a foodie! I love food!” A fun fact about her is that she speaks Spanish. “It really trips out the kids when I speak Spanish to them,” she said. “They don’t expect it because I don’t have an accent.”

We are grateful for Del Bosque’s hard work, dedication, and heart for our students. Thank you for everything you do to keep our schools running and our students supported!
